Farm Description:

Our property of 15 acres is 5.5 miles off Highway One in the northern part of Big Sur, CA at about 2000 ft. elevation. We are surrounded by oaks, madrones and redwoods. A former scout camp, the property contains terraces for tenting, a swimming pool and sauna and various ceremonial sites. We have an orchard, small organic garden, greenhouse, and 26 chickens. Housing consists of a main home, plus 24 ft. yurt, 2 small cabins and a caretaker's unit. There is a detached kitchen and bathroom near the yurt and cabins.

From January 1 until April 30 we need help with garden preparation, generating starts in the greenhouse, brush clearing and burning, weeding, and general property maintenance. Being skilled with tools is an asset. Housing needs to be shared so ideally we would like a couple, or two guys or people who know each other who are comfortable sharing living quarters. We can't accept children or pets. We will provide the food and housing and expect you to prepare your own food. The work day will vary with the weather and needs of the day. There will be time to enjoy this beautiful part of CA and connect with other WWOOFers who are living nearby. WE are 35 minutes south of Carmel and Monterey and 30 minutes from Big Sur Valley.

IMPORTANT: Bring suitable work clothes, work boots, gloves, rain gear, flashlight and a sense of responsibility. Our WWOOFing season ends April 30.
