Farm Description:

A 150 acre family-run organic salt water farm on the Schoodic Peninsula since 1976, raising turkeys, chickens, sheep, a few head of cattle, draft Fjords, mixed vegetables, jams, jellies, pesto, etc. We have a small CSA, on-site farm store, a holiday mailorder business, and one farmers' market. Activities include spinning wool, animal care, garden maintenance, harvesting, planting, jam making, composting, food preservation, building maintenance. We take WWOOFers for any length of time and any time of year and expect 4- 5 hours of work, but more is available, 6 days a week. Small A-frame, and a two story cabin with two bedrooms can house 3. A bathroom is attached to main house with shower, toilet, washing machine. Houses heated with wood. Bus stops nearby. We speak a some French and sign language. We don't accept kids and pets unless discussed. No smoking of anything, please. We provide organic vegetables, meat, basic staples. We love music. Gouldsboro is a fishing town and has a vibrant arts organization - concerts, workshops, chorus, etc. www.schoodicartsforall.org. WE HAD A DEVASTATING BARN FIRE LAST MAY, KILLING OUR THREE DRAFT HORSES, ALL OUR SHEEP, PIGS, TWO CALVES, 60 YOUNG BIRDS. WE ARE REBUILDING A POST AND BEAM AND HAVE REBUILT THE BARN AND HAVE A NEW TEAM AND SHEEP.
